Many CCTV Domes and Telemetry receivers use some form of switching to set the unique address of the camera in the system.
One such method is based on the Binary system which allows addresses in the range 1-255 to be selected from an 8 way DIP switch. Although fairly simple to master many installations fall foul of incorrect address settings.
